“Words create vision, and when God envisioned the world, He spoke the words, ‘Let there be . . .’ and there was—the world came into existence. I thank God for the concern of the author as he penned the words of poetry in this book. I am proud to know the gifted writer of these precious words. Rayfield, may God’s Spirit always lead you to help others through kind and understanding words as you continue to write poems that bring comfort to those who read them.”

“I AM FREE” by Rayfield Palmer
As a child growing up
In a world full of sin,
I’ve seen so much hardship
I thought would never end.
Upbringing in the church,
“Stopped going” caused me to fail,
A life of crime and drugs
Landed me in a 4-by-8-foot jail.
Then, giving God my all,
After a crazy mixed up past,
Going through so many troubles,
Praise God it didn’t last.
He blessed me with a wife
Who helped me through my pain.
I thank You, God, for forgiving me.
My life, I thought, could never change.
I’m writing inspirational poetry
To express the way I feel.
Thank You, Lord, for setting me free
And for my mind being healed.
